Kompi is a kind of never-say-never dog. E.g. "I don't want a red poodle" (Petra's words) and then, while had needed new home for the third time, she didn't hesitate and ask for him. As a matter of fact, she asked for him twice, just for the first time his breeder preferred someone else. But at the end Kompi moved to Petra. I think those two were looking for each other and finally knew at the first sight they were born to be together.

As I mentioned, Kompi had difficult start of his life. He had a lot of mental traumas and downsides. By love and caring lead most of them have diminished and disappeared. As one I can mention his aversion towards men. When he met Honza for the first time he barked at him for three hours till he got exhausted. And by now they're good friends.

Kompi is pretty much active, even hyperactive dog. Are we up to something? I want to go first and volunteer! Thanks to this approach and by thoughtful observation he has learnt to search nosework samples and very quickly he got the essence of this sport. He knows exactly what he's supposed to do. Sometimes he's too much into it and so driven he makes a mistake.

His energy was also a reason why he started with chasing sports. First was the tassel chase on the straight sandy dog racing track, followed by coursing license completion and quite successful participation in the coursing races. With Leon he had a good running season and in 2018 he achieved third place in FCI IX group.
He has lovely head and attractive look overall and therefore you can meet him in dog show rings as well. Judges like his kind of poodle. And on top, when I enrolled him to a handling course as I wasn't sure of his attitude towards other dogs, we has learnt to show himself freely in the show stand on his own. Just like that. He intuitively uses it in the ring quite effectively. In time thanks to all the activities he gained muscles and body substance and with proper coat care we could change his clip from shortly trimmed over a good looking modern clip to the baby clip he has by now. He has managed to establish himself among czech and european show dogs and besides becoming a champion multiple times he quickly reached the Interchampion title, the C.I.B. And I believe this is not the end.

What has remained more or less the same is his sense of guarding duty. Personally I put him to the rank of barky dogs. While sleeping at us every door move at night he announces. And thus we have learnt not to move the doors at night ;-). He also guards his territory. As one if his drawback I consider his tendency to mark anything anywhere whenever there's even the smallest opportunity.

On the other hand he's very caring and also calming dog. Here I should explain a bit more what I meant they looked for each other with Petra. Kompi loves physical contact and somehow he can lay next to and even on someone very decently and in a very pleasant way. For instance when I sit on a chair he's beside me and sort of by the way he touches my leg. And it's a warm and nice feeling. Petra loves such kind of sleeping, it gives her sense of assurance and security, feels beeing guarded. And thus I think it's quite obvious and apparent Kompi lives with Petra and just visits us very often.
